Welcome To The Old Gainesboro Road Utility District!

The Old Gainesboro Road Utility District for Putnam County, Tennessee, was incorporated on July 18, 1967, under chapter 248 of the Public Acts of 1937, (Utility District Law of 1937). On January 27, 1973, the name was changed to “The Old Gainesboro Road Utility District of Putnam and Jackson Counties, Tennessee.” The District provides water for the 1st, 7th, and 15th Civil Districts of Putnam County and the 1st, 10th, and 12th Civil Districts of Jackson County. The District purchases all water for resale from the City of Cookeville. The District presently has approximately 2200 active customers in Putnam and Jackson Counties and 120+ miles of water lines.

At the Old Gainesboro Road Utility, our mission is to provide safe, reliable drinking water to our customers in Putnam and Jackson Counties at the lowest possible cost and still meet all federal and state requirements.
